Bo Bolding

Bo Bolding
Lead Pastor

Bo Bolding is the founding pastor of Crossroads Community Church. He was born in Norman, Oklahoma, but was raised in Texas in a Southern Baptist home. While Bo was in college at Texas A&M, a friend began challenging him to read certain books of the Bible, including 1 John. Taking up the challenge, he began to see God and His Word in a new light. During the next several months God really won his heart.

After graduating from Texas A&M, with a BA in Finance, Bo joined Youth With A Mission (YWAM) where he served for a couple of years. While there, he met and married his wife, Beth.

After leaving YWAM, the Boldings moved to Kilgore, and Bo went to work for his father in the oil business, while he also served as a youth pastor for a local church. During this season of his life, his heart was beating hard for ministry. After nearly  4 years of working in the family business, he decided to attend seminary. He and Beth loaded up their family (now with two sons, and a daughter on the way), moved to Deerfield, Illinois, where he attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and garnered a Master of Divinity. While there, he felt God's leading to plant a church.

After graduation, he, with his wife and a handful of committed brothers and sisters in the Lord, returned to East Texas and, in 1993, founded Crossroads Community Church. Just one year later, following another leading, he started (with a handful of committed families) the Christian Heritage School of Longview. He has served in many roles there as it has developed--including co-founder, teacher, principal and board member. He currently serves on the Board of Directors at the school.

Together, Bo and Beth have four children; Blaine, Brandon, Brooke, and Brady. They also have one son-in-law; Danny and granddaughters Rylie and Addison.

Bo's passions include living his life on mission for God, teaching God's Word, leading in musical worship, enjoying his family, playing basketball, reading great books, and, of course, eating chips and salsa!

Chad Smith
Director of Jr. & Sr. High Ministries

Chad grew up in northwest Pennsylvania, before moving to Texas in 2011 (yes, a reformed Yankee!). He graduated from East Texas Baptist University with a degree in biblical studies and psychology, where he also met his future wife Klaire. They were married in May 2014. It was during this time that they began calling Crossroads Community Church home. They have been serving at Crossroads for almost 4 years now, 2 of which Chad has been on staff as Pastor of Student Ministries.

Two of the most important things that kept Chad and Klaire at Crossroads were sincere community life and prayer-driven ministry. From day one they were challenged to step out of their comfort and truly get to know people, to love and pray for each other without fear of judgment or discrimination. Chad has a passionate desire to teach God’s Word in a clear, relatable way that gives people both a hunger to know Jesus more intimately and a similar desire to share the truth of God’s Word with the people around them.

Besides all of these, Chad loves sports, running, reading, being outdoors, being bearded, movies, coffee shops, and every type of food on earth. Except basil. Basil is terrible.
